NDA/CDS/AFCAT

NDA is one of the most sought after defence entrance exams in the country. NDA recruitment is conducted for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). NDA is conducted twice a year. The exam is conducted two stages - written examination and SSB Interview. The written examination is conducted by Union PublicService Commission (UPSC). A candidate must have completed his 12th standard to appear in this examination for Army wing, whereas he must have completed 12th standard with Physics and Mathematics as his subjects to be eligible for other wings. Minimum and maximum age for this exam is 16.5 years and 19.5 years respectively.

The written examination of NDA consists of two examinations:


  • Mathematics
    • Maximum marks-300, Total number of questions-120
  • General Ability Test-This paper consists of two sections
    • Section-I (English): 200 marks, 50 questions
    • Section-II (General Knowledge): 400 marks, 100 questions

Candidates who secure minimum marks in both the sections as well as minimum total marks in both papers are called for Service Selection Board (SSB) interview.
